Carlos is an accredited Family Law specialist with over thirty years experience in all aspects of family law. He has been involved in complex divorce, de-facto and property matters, parenting matters, relocation of children including international relocation and abduction of children (Hague Convention) cases, contravention matters, location and recovery of children, domestic violence, child support and adoption cases including adoption of adults.

Carlos is passionate about alternative dispute resolution (ADR) applied to family law. He was a founding and original chair of the ADR Committee of the ACT Law Society which continues to operate to this day.  Carlos recognises that the vast majority of family law matters are resolved without the need for a final hearing. Resolving a dispute via ADR allows parties to explore a greater variety of possible outcomes for a family law matter than what a judge may be able to decide in a disputed matter. In that sense, parties are limited only by their own imagination about the possible outcomes which may be achieved to the satisfaction of both parties.

A small proportion of family law matters require a Court to decide the outcome. Carlos can provide strong, effective representation to clients in such cases.
